On the sidelines of the 18th Africa Scout Conference, the Africa Scout Foundation convened an Investor Forum on 26th August 2022. This offered an opportunity to share a report on the progress achieved since 2018 and make key decisions on the future of Foundation.
Themed “Investing for Growth” the forum aimed to provide a platform for engagement with current and potential members and raise funds that support Scouting in Africa. Members had an opportunity to network and inspire each other to continue supporting the foundation to achieve more impact.
The outgoing Chairperson Prof. Maggie Kigozi, reported on the Foundation’s work and led the members through a process of transition that ushered in a new board to steer the Foundation over the coming five years until 2027. The new board consists of the following:
Jemima NARTEY – Ghana
Ezekiel MALENYA – Botswana
James KASTELIC – Namibia
Olusoga SOFOLAHAN – Nigeria
Patrick DE SOUZA – Senegal
Eugene KOUASSI – Cote d’Ivoire
Jemima Nartey and Ezekiel Malenya were elected Chairperson and Vice Chairperson respectively.
Besides the election, new and upgrading members were recognized across the Junior, Individual, Scout Association and Corporate categories were recognized for their contributions to enabling the Foundation to raise the much-needed resources to support the growth and development of Scouting in Africa.
