The Conference gathered for another day at the 18th Africa Scout Conference – an eventful day of exhibition at the WOSM Services marketplace, learning about the process for the development of the next strategy for Scouting and taking in-depth look at the draft Regional Triennial Plan 2022-2025. Participants also actively participated in a breakout session to discuss the Draft Amendments to the Constitution of the Africa Scout Region.
In reiterating Safe from Harm as key priority for World Scouting, participants were taken through a presentation on this area of work with an emphasis on the need for National Scout Organizations to comply with the constitutional requirement on Safe from Harm passed at the 42nd World Scout Conference.
The conference also received a report on the regional events held in the past triennium and listened to bids by National Scout Organizations vying to host upcoming regional events. Another key highlight was on the WOSM Members Portal – a central online repository with information about all National Scout Organizations and where they can submit their constitutional reporting requirements annually.
The Africa Scout Foundation held its Investor Forum where members who recently joined or upgraded their membership were recognized. A new board was elected to steer the Foundation’s work over the coming five years. The ambassadors and outgoing board members were recognized and appreciated for their dedication and commitment to growing the foundation.
