The Event Programme

The Conference and Youth Forum programme is designed to offer participants the opportunity to get involved through pre-event programme content, come together as a Movement during plenary sessions, and join educational workshops, social activities, and exhibitions through a variety of on-demand programming.

Youth Forum Programme

The Youth Forum programme provides an opportunity for  young people of different backgrounds to explore key issues together such as innovation, health and wellbeing, Better World Framework, youth and leadership and to develop the skills necessary to take part in decision-making processes. Elections also take place to select the next triennium’s Youth Advisors to the Africa Scout Committee.

Conference Programme

The Conference programme showcases the work achieved during the current triennium, and focuses on making key decisions about the future of Scouting in Africa. Decisions are taken on Conference proposals, selecting Hosts for future Scout Events and electing the next Africa Scout Committee. Throughout the event, delegations will have the opportunity to share best practices with other National Scout Organizations, learn about collaboration opportunities with partners, and be inspired by impact stories of Scouts from across Africa.

Pre and Post Event Tours/ Accompanying Persons Programme

We are pleased to offer a variety of exciting social activities across Kenya for accompanying persons to make the most of their time in Kenya. Below is a catalogue that provides ideas for activities and destinations to experience. This programme is optional and not included in the registration fees. Bookings for the below tours are available through the event planning team.

Plenary Sessions

Dedicated space in plenary to bring all participants together and carry out key functions of the event, including voting on proposals. Confirmed plenary session include:

Side Events

  • Africa Scout Foundation Investor Forum – 26 August 2022

The Board of the Africa Scout Foundation in collaboration with the World Scout Bureau Africa Support Centre, is pleased to invite you to the Africa Scout Foundation Investor Forum 2022 to be hosted on 26th August 2022 from 5:20PM Nairobi time (GMT+3) at the KCB Leadership Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.  The Investor Forum will bring together current members, potential members, corporates, organisations, and other invited guests under the theme “Investing for Growth”. This is in our efforts to raise at least USD 20,000 as part of the target USD 1,000,000 seed fund to be invested towards ensuring a future of Scouting in Africa. Exhibitions

Exhibition space offering interaction with World Scouting, National Scout Organizations and partners to learn more about specific Scouting topics, events, projects, services and initiatives. Confirmed exhibitors include:

Breakout Sessions

Sessions allowing participants to discuss and debate topics related to decision-making during the event. Confirmed breakout sessions include:

Social Activities

Social activities focused on having fun and unifying the Scout Movement will be organized. These include:

 

We’ll have a cultural night at the conference to celebrate the unity of the Movement from around Africa. To be held on the last evening of the conference, this will be an easy night allowing participants to interact, bring cultures together and listen to music from around Africa and serve as a farewell dinner of the 18th Africa Scout Conference forming life-long friendships among the participants.

 

NSOs delegation are requested to carry their traditional attire, prepare to showcase dances, songs and any other presentations as we will have a moment to showcase them during the cultural dinner. Kindly register with grace.kamau@scout.org to have a slot
